WTN Services- Is it now time for collectors to begin buying fine wines?

The economy is still a mixed bag but many are beginning to make purchases in response to a turnaround. I have been traveling the past two weeks in the midwest, east coast and to Mexico. One thing in my travels is apparent people are still spending money, dining at nice restaurants and drinking premium wines. Don’t be fooled by the press. The key to our business plans and that of our premium wineries is how to we keep messaging that we have those premium wines available and how do we encourage a purchase. Don’t be afraid to offer premiums and don’t over discount to do so. In over discounting you train the consumer to wait till the bargain is offered.

The New York Times just posted a story suggesting now is the time to buy fine wines as well…

According to the article, ”

“It’s a great time to buy wine, the best time in a decade,” said Charles Curtis, who is in charge of Christie’s North American wine department. “People we’ve never heard of are jumping into the market, taking advantage of the lull to get into collecting, now that they have access.”

Let’s ensure our partner wineries are jumping on the bandwagon and taking advantage of the favorable press and encourage our consumer base to purchase now! No time to rebuild your sales initiatives then NOW!
